04-05 November 2021,  BISHKEK- ERZURUM

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the 1st International Scientific Online Conference “CONTEMPORARY PROSPECTS AND TENDENCIES IN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE” will be held on November 04-05, 2021.

The conference is organized by Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Western Languages (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) and Atatürk University, Faculty of Letters, Department of American Culture and Literature (Erzurum, Turkey).

The event aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers, scholars, teachers, postgraduate students, early career researchers, to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, share ideas and foster conversations, to exchange their experiences, new ideas and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and research results in the fields of Language, Literature and Culture.

Language is almost central to the survival of mankind because it is an important tool for communication, negotiation and the transfer or preservation of the literary as well as cultural heritage of a people from one generation to the other. There is a very close relationship between language and culture in general, and a specific language and its culture in particular. That is, culture has a direct effect on language. In fact, the two issues are closely correlated and interrelated. Language is also the symbolic presentation of a nation or a specific community. Moreover, the relationship between language, literature and culture is so strong to the extent that a change in one ultimately affects the other two. Every language directly mirrors the culture it serves - a language either enriches or impoverishes the culture it serves.

In the last decades, the impact of globalization has caused great changes on language, literature and culture, as they are inevitably linked to each other. In the time of pandemic years, cultural shocks have been increased, and the need for international collaboration has become more important now than ever before because of the global challenges we are all facing. The cultural sphere was one of the first effect to take the blow from the coronavirus - in connection with the ban on crossing borders around the world, closed theaters and concert halls, canceled cultural and literary events. Literature and culture have always helped us to overcome crises so far. This conference aims to emphasize on diversity, collaboration and cohesiveness by recognizing that the previous understanding of culture, language, and literature needs new implications and applications. Therefore, International Conference on Language, Literature, and Culture intends to discuss importance of conventional discourses and approaches on the aspects of language, literature and culture in all possible contexts, employing interdisciplinary approach to address the research problems with methods applied from multiple topics, such as gender, communication, linguistics, identity.
