On November 17, 2025, the new office of the Turkey–Kyrgyzstan Business, Culture, Solidarity and Friendship Association (TÜKİD) was officially opened in Bishkek.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem; the Representative of the TRNC in Bishkek Tahir Osman Tahir; Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş; Secretary-General Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil; TİKA Bishkek Program Coordinator Mehmet Bodur; MÜSİAD Kyrgyzstan President Suat Akpınar; representatives of Kyrgyz state institutions; and business community members from both countries.
In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem emphasized that since its establishment in 2020, TÜKİD has not only brought together businesspeople in Kyrgyzstan but has also made significant contributions to the country’s economic and social development. Ambassador Ökem said, “I thank you, our esteemed businesspeople, for your achievements, your efforts, and the work you have carried out so far. We are proud of you.”
Highlighting that TÜKİD members operate in key sectors of the Kyrgyz economy, including finance, health, tourism, mining, transportation, and manufacturing, Ambassador Ökem stated that the investments, production activities, contributions to employment, and strong partnerships formed with Kyrgyz counterparts have strengthened economic relations between the two countries. He added: “We will continue to support our businesspeople, your companies, and TÜKİD’s activities in the coming period. I sincerely believe that this new office will facilitate your operations, create new investment opportunities, and contribute to the Turkey–Kyrgyzstan economic partnership.”
Following Ambassador Ökem’s remarks, TÜKİD President Ufuk İnce noting that the association’s primary goal since its establishment has been to contribute to strengthening Turkey–Kyrgyzstan relations. He stated: “Our new office will allow us to carry out our activities more effectively, efficiently, and sustainably. This place, whose opening we are celebrating today, is not just a workspace; it will also serve as a center where representatives of the Turkish and Kyrgyz business communities come together, develop joint projects, and build bridges of friendship.”
President İnce expressed his hope that the new office would help further enhance the economic, commercial, and cultural relations between the two countries and thanked the participants.
The opening of the new TÜKİD office is considered an important step toward strengthening cooperation, developing entrepreneurial relations, and supporting cultural dialogue between the two countries.
TÜKİD’s new office aims to serve as an open platform for meetings, projects, business events, and public programs, contributing to the deepening of relations between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan. The ceremony stood as a concrete indication of the importance placed on friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
