Board of Trustees of KTMU Discusses the University’s New-Term Roadmap

The Board of Trustees of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) convened on Saturday, March 28, at the Rectorate Senate Hall to discuss the university’s academic and administrative structure as well as its strategic goals for the upcoming period.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak, Member of the Board and President of Strategy and Budget of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye İbrahim Şenel, Board Member and Vice Chairman of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Prof. Dr. Halim Haldun Göktaş, KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev, Head of the Department responsible for Higher Education, Vocational Secondary Education, and Graduate Education under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and Board Member Ainura Israilova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and Board Member Meder Abakirov, Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic and Board Member Talgat Ashirbekov, Deputy Head of the Network Policy Department and Board Member Azamat Sharsheev. Member of the Executive Board of the Council of Higher Education Prof. Dr. Kemal Şenocak attended the meeting online. In addition, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş and Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov, along with Secretary-General Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil were also present.

Education, Research, and Development at KTMU Were Discussed

During the meeting, the university’s recent academic activities, teaching and learning processes, scientific output capacity, internationalization goals, and areas of institutional development were evaluated. In this context, KTMU’s current academic performance, ongoing projects, student-centered initiatives, quality assurance practices, and administrative processes were shared with the Board members.

KTMU’s Strategic Mission in the Turkic World Emphasized

Discussions highlighted the importance of preserving and further advancing the university’s unique structure, which strengthens the shared higher education vision between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan. KTMU was emphasized as a strategic higher education center that supports academic cooperation, cultural rapprochement, and joint scientific production across the Turkic world.

A Comprehensive Agenda from Academic Output to Quality Processes

Throughout the meeting, the university’s academic structure, institutional functioning, and priority areas for the upcoming period were discussed in detail. Particular emphasis was placed on sustainable institutional growth, enhancing the quality of education, strengthening research capacity, and increasing international visibility.

Furthermore, steps to reinforce KTMU’s position in regional and international higher education were evaluated within the framework of managerial efficiency, academic planning, and institutional coordination. Extensive consultations were held on potential new initiatives aligned with the university’s future goals. At the conclusion of the meeting, a consensus was reached on various matters supporting the academic and administrative development of the university.

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan stated that the Board of Trustees meeting was highly productive in shaping the university’s vision for the upcoming period. He noted that significant evaluations were made to further strengthen KTMU’s academic development, institutional capacity, and position in international higher education. Prof.Dr. Ceylan emphasized that the decisions taken would contribute to advancing the university’s strategic goals in a more robust and well-planned manner, providing strong momentum to KTMU’s progress in quality education, scientific production, and institutional sustainability.
