KTMU Expands Academic Publishing and Scientific Cooperation with Indonesia

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) has added a new initiative to its efforts aimed at strengthening international academic visibility and scientific collaboration. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz, a faculty member of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at KTMU Faculty of Science and Editor-in-Chief of the MANAS Journal of Engineering (MJEN), conducted academic visits to Airlangga University, one of Indonesia’s prestigious higher education institutions.

Within the scope of the visit, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yavuz participated as an invited speaker at the international workshop titled “Building an Ecosystem of High-Impact Journals: Tips and Strategies”, held at the Airlangga University Congress Center. The event brought together the editors-in-chief of 108 academic journals published within the university.

In his presentations at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Yavuz addressed key topics such as the management of high-impact academic journals, editorial quality processes, international standards in scientific publishing, and strategies to enhance the global visibility of academic journals. Sharing his experience in academic publishing, he also discussed methods for improving research quality, indexing processes, and increasing the international impact of scholarly journals, presenting practical examples to participants.

During meetings with editors, researchers, and university administrators, current dynamics of scientific communication, publication ethics, peer-review processes, research evaluation systems, and approaches to strengthening the global competitiveness of academic journals were also discussed.

The visit, which played an important role in strengthening academic relations between KTMU and Airlangga University, also included discussions on long-term collaboration opportunities between the Faculties of Science and Mathematics departments of both universities in the fields of research, education, and scientific publishing.

A New Phase in Academic Cooperation

As a result of the discussions, an affiliation agreement was signed to strengthen institutional cooperation between the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at KTMU and the Department of Mathematics at Airlangga University. Additionally, both parties reached an agreement on establishing joint collaboration mechanisms between the academic journals published by the two universities.

These collaborations are expected to create new opportunities in areas such as editorial experience sharing, development of international reviewer networks, preparation of joint special issues, improvement of scientific publication quality, and promotion of joint research projects.
