Theatre Event for Communication Faculty Students

Students of the Faculty of Communication at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University attended the psychological drama titled “Where Is Last Year’s Wife?” staged at the Kyrgyz National Academic T. Abdumomunov Drama Theatre on March 6, 2026, as part of cultural and artistic activities.

During the event held at the Abdumomunov Drama Theatre—one of the prominent theatre venues in Kyrgyzstan—students had the opportunity to closely observe the narrative power of stage arts and the structures of dramatic storytelling. The theatre activity provided an important learning environment for communication students to experience cultural production processes and artistic forms of expression.

The play was written by Murza Gaparov, People’s Writer of Kyrgyzstan. The work tells the dramatic life story of an actress who devoted her life to theatre and cinema. At a time when indifference to human values is increasing, the play questions society’s attitude toward its artists and powerfully portrays the loneliness and sacrifices of a life dedicated to art through a strong psychological narrative.

Through this theatre event, communication faculty students also had the opportunity to observe and experience the role of art in preserving social memory and transmitting cultural values.
