ADB Delegation Holds Meeting on Economic Competitiveness at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University
On July 10, 2025, as part of the ADB-supported project titled “Competitiveness Diagnostic Studies, Analyses, and Strategic Roadmaps in the Kyrgyz Republic,” the Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation visiting Bishkek held a significant meeting at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
The delegation included Professor Myung Ho Park, President of the World Economic Research Institute and Emeritus Professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; Professor Wankeun Oh from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies; and Ms. Tursunai Usubalieva, ADB National Consultant.
The ADB team met with Associate Professor Dr. Seyil Najimudinova, Advisor to the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and Associate Professor Dr. Zamira Oskonbaeva, Head of the Department of Economics. The meeting addressed key topics such as Kyrgyzstan’s economic competitiveness, industrial policies, regional development strategies, and diversified growth.
During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on the role of universities in policy development, the training of a qualified workforce, and the integration of academic contributions into strategic planning. The visit holds great significance in strengthening cooperation with the academic community and supporting the country's goals for sustainable and inclusive growth.
