Seminar on ESG and sustainable microfinance
On April 7, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Razia Abdieva from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, conducted a seminar on ESG and sustainable microfinance.
During the event, the ESG performance of the microfinance sector in Kyrgyzstan was analyzed, revealing an average score of 70.73%. This indicates a moderately high level of sustainability within the sector.
Researchers highlighted that while significant progress has been achieved in the social and governance dimensions, there is a need to further develop the environmental component.
As a result of the seminar, recommendations were proposed, including improving financial literacy, promoting green finance mechanisms, and supporting women and youth entrepreneurship.
