Seminar on Evaluating the Economic Contribution of Digital Transformation in the Public Sector

On Friday, April 24, 2026, at 2:30 PM, a seminar titled "Evaluating the Economic Contribution of Digital Transformation in the Public Sector" was held by Aybek Adanbayev, a faculty member of our department, in seminar room MFFB-128.

In the seminar, it was emphasized that digital transformation should not be seen merely as a "modernization" oriented process; real success can be measured by the operational efficiency and concrete economic contribution created by this transformation. Aybek Adanbayev stated that instead of acting with the "digital transformation is good" motto, the question "what is the net economic gain of this transformation?" should be answered at every stage of the projects.

The topic was detailed through the example of a public office that maintains the records and management of radio frequencies. It was analyzed how the digitalization of manual recording processes in this office is not just a technology update, but directly reduces operational costs through shortened processing times, prevention of data errors, and optimization of resources. Through this concrete example, the realistic and measurable savings provided to the public budget by a correctly designed digital infrastructure were emphasized.

The seminar, which took place with intense interest from our students and faculty members, ended with a Q&A session after the presentation. We thank everyone who participated.
