Lecturer Klara Koychukulova Wins Grand Prix at the VI World Nomad Games
As part of the VI World Nomad Games, the “Biy Irgak” Ethno-Archaic Dance Competition awarded its Grand Prix to “Tilek-Mazar,” a dance production created and choreographed by Klara Koychukulova, Lecturer in the Department of Music at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
Inspired by the ancient values of Kyrgyz culture, “Tilek-Mazar” explores the connection between nature, humanity, and the spiritual world through a compelling stage language. The production tells the story of a bakshy, a spiritual figure who travels through the world and seeks to revive the sacred Mazar-Darak tree, which has stood for centuries. Traditional beliefs and cultural symbols are brought to the stage through an artistic interpretation.
As the creator of the concept and principal choreographer, Klara Koychukulova received the competition’s most prestigious award for her original artistic approach and her successful integration of ethno-archaic dance elements.
This significant achievement by Lecturer Klara Koychukulova contributes to strengthening the university’s international profile in the fields of art and culture and represents a successful example of bringing traditional cultural heritage together with contemporary artistic expression.
