Book Presentation Day at the Faculty of Humanities

On 30 April 2026, the Faculty of Humanities at KTMU organised the ‘Faculty of Humanities Book Presentation Day’, which is intended to become an annual event. During the event, which saw academic expertise translated into tangible works, academic papers prepared within the university and aimed at the Turkic world were presented.

At the exhibition organised in the faculty foyer, visitors were able to browse books and academic journals written by lecturers at the Kyrgyz-Turkish ‘Manas’ University and published by the university’s Publishing Department. During the event, the work of Professor Dr Abdulvahap Kara attracted considerable interest; he had translated into Turkish and Kyrgyz the articles of Mustafa Chokay, one of the prominent figures of Turkestan, entitled ‘The Soviet Union’s Policy Towards the Turkic World’. The programme was attended by the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Jeilan, the Deputy Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Gulmira Tursunali, the Deputy Secretary-General of TURKSOY, Sait Yusuf, as well as the authors of the books, academics and students.

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Dr Alpaslan Ashyk, noted that since 2025, the faculty has published a total of 14 academic books and book chapters. Emphasising that these works, published in Kyrgyz, English and Turkish, reflect the faculty’s international academic potential, Prof. Dr. Ashyk noted that books are not only a source of knowledge but also an invaluable legacy that builds bridges between cultures.
