Success at the International Student Theatre Festival
The XI International “Canı Isımdar” (New Names) Student Theatre Festival, held on April 15–18, 2026, was organized as one of the significant cultural youth events in Kyrgyzstan. The festival was dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the renowned Kyrgyz ballerina Bübüsara Beyşenaliyeva.
Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, in cooperation with the B. Beyşenaliyeva Kyrgyz State University of Culture and Arts and the Union of Theatre Workers of Kyrgyzstan, the festival brought together university students from Kyrgyzstan as well as Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
Within the scope of the festival, notable achievements were recorded in the dramaturgy (playwriting) category. Elnura Shabırbekova won second place with her work “Pigmalion,” while Mırzayım Termeeva received the award for Best Theatre Work with her piece “Ayna.”
At the closing ceremony, participants were presented with certificates and various awards.
