“The Great Manaschi of the Kyrgyz People”
Within the framework of the initiative “National Spirit – Global Heights” on February 11, 2026, a scientific and educational seminar entitled “The Great Manaschi of the Kyrgyz People” was conducted by Nurjamal Omurzakova, Candidate of Biological Sciences and academic staff member of the department, together with third-year students.
The main objective of the seminar was to explore the historical and cultural significance of the epic “Manas” to promote the creative heritage of prominent manaschi, and to foster national identity among students.
Distinguished guests included renowned manaschi: Kalybek uulu Nurbek, Kursanbekov Baysal, and Barktobas Beksultan. During the seminar, they performed excerpts from the epic and shared their professional experience. Student presentations provided scholarly analyses of the biographies and artistic features of famous storytellers.
At the conclusion of the event, appreciation and commemorative gifts were presented to the guests and active participants. The seminar was organized at a high academic level and contributed to the promotion of national values and the intellectual development of students.
