Empathy in Islam and Its Benefits

As part of the Faculty’s 2026 social responsibility activities, a seminar titled “Empathy in Islam and Its Benefits” was organized for university students on April 21, 2026 under the coordination of KTMU Faculty of Theology staff member Jamila Joraeva.

During the seminar, Gulzina Nuridinova stated that empathy in Islam is an important moral value based on understanding the feelings and needs of others. She explained that this understanding, emphasized in the Holy Qur’an and the hadiths of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), teaches individuals to consider not only their own interests but also the welfare of society as a whole. It was highlighted that empathy is reflected through practices such as mutual assistance, zakat, and charity, thereby strengthening social solidarity and contributing to social peace and harmony. In this respect, empathy was described as one of the fundamental principles of Islamic morality that supports personal development and lays the foundation for a more just society. The seminar concluded with these remarks.
