CONTEMPORARY METHODS IN LINGUISTICS AND TRANSLATION IN THE ERA OF DIGITALIZATION AND GLOBALAZITION
On February 11-12, 2026, the Department of Simultaneous Translation at the Faculty of Humanities organized a two-day intensive professional development training titled 'Language and Translation: Contemporary Approaches in the Era of Digitalization and Globalization' for over 40 representatives from five leading universities in Kyrgyzstan. The event, arranged by Prof. Dr. Aida Kasieva, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gulnura Jumalieva, Dr. Nurgul Karybekova, and Senior Lecturer Meerim Kinalieva, participants gained comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in corpus linguistics, digital humanities technologies, CAT tools in translation, and contemporary methods of simultaneous interpreting. Faculty members from Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev, Naryn State University, Osh State University, and State University named after I. Arabaev were provided with a unique opportunity for experience exchange and enhancement of professional competencies. At the end of the training, plans for further development of cooperation between local universities were discussed, and all participants were awarded professional development certificates.
