Veterinary Faculty Students Conduct Educational Visit to “Toro” Meat Processing Plant
Students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University conducted an educational visit to the “Toro” meat processing plant in Bishkek on April 24, 2026. The event was organized under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ulash Azharoz, providing students with the opportunity to observe the structure and operational processes of the facility on site.
During the visit, students received detailed information on animal welfare requirements, ante- and post-mortem veterinary inspection procedures, meat hygiene, food safety, HACCP principles, and cold chain management. In addition, practicing veterinarians at the facility shared their field experience.
Students had the opportunity to observe the production line directly and integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application. The activity once again highlighted the critical role of veterinary medicine in public health and food safety. It also strengthened university–industry collaboration and contributed significantly to students’ professional development.
